First and foremost Wish you all a Very Happy New Year! Let all your dreams come true!

What a year 2009 has been! Filled with fun, emotions, hard work, success, failure and what not! Its been a total package I must say. There are many things going on in my mind right now which as of now I cannot publish. As and when time comes I shall try my best to put forth all those things which went through me during the year 2009!

No New year resolutions this time round! :P You make resolutions and don't follow them! So better is don't make any :) I am happy for just one thing now, What ever has happened in 2009 has helped me improve myself in all possible fronts and has made me dream more n more.

" Believe in yourself and in GOD, Success is sure to follow you."

Happy New Year! God Bless..

Swimming Pool Incident!

I am totally a "Water Freak" i must say! My mom always warns me whenever i go to places surrounded by water! As always right from 4th standard i used to go swimming! The place i started swimming and learnt it completely was in the Valley view swimming pool where me and my cousin Mahesh used to go!
After i was kinda a good swimmer i started going to MIT, swimming pool which is just 20 mins by cycle from my place. A huge group of my friends used to turn up there every day and we had a real lot of fun! The time duration was 1hr a day and we had passes or tickets through which we were allowed in. During weekdays we used to go in the noon and weekends it was early morning swim! It used to be real fun.

"People who did not know how to swim were always asked to be on the lower side of the pool"

This was during the May holidays which we had. It was a pleasant morning and as usual we were around 14 guys all set to enjoy in the pool for an hour! Nobody knew what was coming!
On this particular day we had a new friend who was joining us named Deepak Mallya! He did not know how to swim but he had just come down to have some fun.
Our usual routine in the pool during the hour was take some 4-5 laps.. Play some games, specially the coin game, wherein the coin is thrown into the water and one must search it without wearing the goggles. Then again at the end 4-5 laps.
We had our first set of 4-5 laps. The pool was totally empty except for me and my friends and a doctor uncle who always used to come in the morning. We even played our game after which we decided we'll have the last set of laps and wind up!
We were on our 2nd lap n i saw a cement like thing right below inside the pool. Since i was not wearing a goggled i could not make out what it was exactly. I stopped my friends and informed them about the same. We went in under the water and reached the bottom of the pool to find out that Deepak Mallya was lying underneath with his hands on his nose. He was unconscious. And it was totally difficult for me and my friend to pull him up because he was totally heavy. We then quickly went up and asked the lifeguard for help who in turn went in and pulled him up! We all were out of the pool surrounding him just hoping that things were fine with him. The doctor came to the spot and did the initial First Aid stuff and then he was taken to the hospital.
A day later he was discharged and when we asked him about the incident he never knew what had happened.
It was by God's grace that I noticed him and alerted my friends and the lifeguard.
I still feel real proud remembering this incident wherein i was responsible for saving a person's life :)

I would just like to say never ever play with water, if you don't know how to swim do not take the risk and jump into the water. There are so many deaths occurring these days due to water. If preliminary precautions are taken by us we surely can do a lot.

Cheers,
Muki

A meet which proved to be really sweet!!

Sunday, 18 Oct, '09 was the day when i met my good old engineering friends after a long long gap! Thanks to Panoy, Poota, Bammi, Jadu, SSP, Tutam who made it and made the day worth remembering :)
We decided to meet for lunch at DT, Manipal and as usual some din't turn up due to personal reasons! Wish they too were with us! Santa n Jithe! Missed yu guys a lot..
SSP our inspector was out of form on this day! Dunno what was on him! His usual style at DT was not to be seen! After lunch, under the shade of a tree at End Point, Manipal pulling each others legs, remembering the good old days spent during our Engineering life, cracking those old bull shit jokes was just amazing!
From there on 6 bikes to Malpe beach was just an amazing ride!
Those college days will never ever be back! Those moments we spent together can never be brought back! Dam.. I really miss those days.. Those friends with whom i spent the most wonderful days of my life!

Wish i could get back!!!!!!
Thanks guys! Miss yu all!

Goa- Shri Mahalasa Narayani

The Pretty Lady of All Time! Shri Mahalasa Narayani

Goa, as we all know is the land of divine grace! Every other road has a temple! For all Amchi's (Konkani people) their respective kuladevata temple is situated in goa. So is mine!

Shri Mahalasa Narayani being my kuladevata, the temple is situated in Mardol,Goa.

Every year during navrathri in the temple a 5 day function is held wherein all the devotees will surely make it a point to be there and collect the prasad! This prasad which is know as "Kaul Prasad" is given only in Goa and only during the navrathri time!

Me, dad, uncle and my aunt decided to leave to goa via train on 5th morning, Monday. The train was scheduled at 2.20 and luckily it did arrive at the scheduled time. We had already booked the tickets so there was no problem in getting a seat. It was Mangalore-Mumbai Matshyagandha Express. Believe me at every stop from udupi to goa he had stopped and when we reached goa it was 8 p.m. The train travel was really wonderful! Passing through the mountains, rivers, the longest tunnel of Konkan railway near Harwada was really fun!

We couldn't get the bus from the railway station so had to hire a taxi! Petrol being cheaper in goa than in karnataka, the taxi fare for just a mere 20kms was 500 bucks!! WTF.. We had no ther choice but to take it! Since the pooja was at around 9.

I must say I have never seen more lazy people than the people in goa! Morning a.m they open their shop! Evening by 6 p.m the shops are closed!! :) Even then they lead a luxurious life!

We got prasad at 3 a.m in the morning! Standing in the queue was such a great task! Met a cute lil kid named Adithya! One n half year old! Very smart and cute!! Sorry, forgot to click his pic!!

Next day, we had our train scheduled at 3 p.m, Verna-Mangalore Passenger!

On the way I saw the Karwar Landslide which had killed so many people and nearly 25 houses burried due to mother nature's fury! It was seriously touching to see the things there as the train passes by the spot! Cylinders, Television sets, utensils and what not. Everything being removed from underneath the soil! The rescue operation was in progress! I have been told there are still more bodies underneath and the search operation is on! Feels real bad for their family! They have lost everything! Beloved family, house, everything!

In honnavar there came this small boy nearly 7 years old! He had a huge lays packet in his hand! He smiled at me as he sat right opposite to me! He started eating the chips! Mind you, his hand, until his elbow was inside the packet! Until udupi he nearly ate 7-8 packets of those huge lays! I was seriously dumbstruck seeing the way he was gulping the chips! That too not small packets.. I guess it was the 20 bucks one! :)

We finally reached Udupi at 8.30 p.m :)

A tight scheduled goa tour had come to an end safely with the grace of goddess Mahalasa Narayani!

Cheers,

Muki

A Great Start for the Blues!

It was curtain raiser for the season. It couldn't have been better.
Chelsea Vs Manchester United battling it out for the Community Shield.
After Guus Hiddink the Blues had appointed Carlo Ancelotti as the next manager! Yesterday it was a awesome encounter against the Red Devils.. The Blues prevailed.. The better team won..
With the likes of Drogba,Lamps,JT in good shape the future for Chelsea is looking great..I somehow had the gut feeling yesterday that we will surely win it! We did.. The penalties were just awesome to watch.. With specialist like rooney, owen, valencia being there SAF put in evra to the spot :P
He's regretting it now for sure.!
It was great victory to kick start the season with a bang! This is the start of "Blue Era"!

Go Chelsea.. :)

This is the man behind the Blues!!!!

The Scary Night!!!

When in Final year of my Engineering we had arranged for a days trip to a falls near Kudremukh.. "Hanuman Gundi".. A very nice place to visit.. We had left from college around 7 in the morning.. Had a nice time there till around 3.. Den visited Malpe beach.. Had dinner in Manipal.. As usual some frens visited the famous "DeeTee".. It was already 10.30 when we had finished our dinner.. Our driver had already started complainin as to how long it'll take for us to finish up things.. He had a guest whom he had to pick up from the airport at 1am.. After a long discussion as to which way we would take whether the Karkal-Moodbidri route or the Udupi-Mlore route we finally decided to take the Mlore-Udupi route as it was the national highway and it would be less risky.. We finally started from Manipal at 11pm i guess.. As the vehicle a mini bus had a speed limit machine installed in it the driver couldn't travel over 60km/hr.. We had to drop some of our freinds at Mlore..
There again we had problem with this guy called Ramnath.. His house was at Kulshekar near Mlore.. He started eating our head as to we gotta leave him near his place as there was no means of transport for him to go.. Who knew the trouble would start by doin so!!!!
If we had to drop him at Kulshekar we had to take the Neer Marga route which is really horrible.. If at all something happens to the vehicle or so there s no means of help we ll get in that region.. No street lights nothing.. One side the driver started his kirkiri by telling he's getting late and he's got to pick up the guy from airport!!! We had no other option other than taking the Neer Marga route..
It was very cool in the night.. I guess it was around 12.30.. We were not even half way through and suddenly the vehicle comes to a halt.. Oh my.. Not again.. We were running out of gas..This foolish driver of our had filled the tank with diesel early in the morning when we left college.. After that he din bother about it at all.. So foolish of him.. The tank was fully empty.. The reason the driver gave was the diesel meter showed half full :)
WTF!!!! At 1 am in the night and that too at such a place where shall we find diesel.. There was no means we could walk all the way to college like we did the other time.. College was around 25 kms away.. All because of this Ramnath..If not for him we would have taken the highway route via Farengipet and even if the vehicle had stopped we could have asked someone or the other for help since it was a highway..
Now nothing could be done.. 2 vehicles which passed by refused to stop.. The place only is so scary that people will never stop for help.. We were just praying that let someone come and save us from this problem!!!
Suddenly from no where a person comes.. He was wearing a short as i remember and a t-shirt!! According to me there was not a single house in and around the place where our vehicle was stopped and no street lights too.. It was a junction of 3 roads.. He came from one of them.. Approached our driver and asked him the time.. Soon after that he left.. Dunno where he disappeared.. Only a few of us saw that person.. A very skinny guy.. Old age.. Dunno what he was doing there at that time of the night.. !!!!
Our driver started telling the person who came was a GHOST!!! Otherwise at that time of the day nobody would come and ask for the time.. That too at that place where there's no house around.. We were really excited about this.. Some were quite frightened too hearing about the ghost.. A guy named Preetesh told us about something called "KURVAIL" ghost!!! I don't know whether it exists or not but according to him it does and it is found at the junction of 3 roads seems :P.. He even said the person who asked the driver the time was the ghost itself and it cannot be anyone else at that time.. Santosh was really frightned hearing this.. N to his bad luck the vehicle too had no fuel.. Din't know how much more time we had to wait there..
Only god must save us from this problem.. We were lying on the road having nothing to do and were chatting.. Suddenly a bike comes and he asked us what our problem was.. As he came to know we were out of fuel he said he'll get us fuel from his place which was not far from there.. Our driver went along with him to get it.. We were even scared now as to whether the driver would return back or not :P Specially santosh.. After about 15-20 mins the driver returned witha huge can full of fuel!!! It was god only who saved us at that point of time.. The guy who gave us fuel had 25 litres of diesel at his place which he gave us.. I dunno how he had so much quantity..
We really had a very good experience that day.. Miss those college days where we had so much fun.. Wish those days come again.. Miss yu guys...

Cheers,
Muki
